chiliThis Saturday, November 21st, Strokers Saloon in Manchester is hosting a Broomstick Pool Tourney and a Chili Cookoff sponsored by Abate of Iowa.
Strokers owner Callie McDonald is looking forward to the second annual event. She says, “The broomstick tourney is so much fun!”

The partners alternate broomstick pool tournament will begin at 2 p.m. The cost is $5.00/person and contestants should register anytime prior to the start. The tourney sounds like a blast to watch or to participate. The special cue sticks are in fact brooms and shooters use the end of the broom to make their shots. Callie explains competitors even chalk the end of the broom stick before their shots.

The Chili Cook Off is a people’s choice tasting contest. According to Callie, contestants should arrive before 3 p.m. with their version of the “world greatest chili.” Crowd members will pay $5.00 to taste the chilis and vote for a winner. The winner will be announced around 4:30 p.m.

Later in the evening Ozzie and Co. will be on hand to dj.

Strokers is one of the best kept bars on dishntunes.com with very friendly atmosphere and a great beer selection. If you have never been, this would be a great day to check them out! Joleen Jansen Bio
