Though the choice is difficult, I would definitely spend my money at the Franklin Hotel with my sweetheart. Besides the great food and not-too-shabby prices (tip: which will save some money for something besides just dinner ), it has a rich history to it and a great romantic, old-timin’ feel to it.

A quick tip to the fellas for Valentine’s Day: Roses are always the key to a great Valentine’s gift. Thought and time are better appreciated some times. (sorry guys)

We usually celebrate Valentine’s Day at my husband’s Knights of Columbus annual Valentine’s Party, which is mainly held on a Sunday evening. This is the first year in a very long time that this Sunday will actually fall on Valentine’s Day! Seeing as we are having it at “The Stadium” in Guttenberg, I would definitely spend the $25 dnt Valentine’s cash there. Rod has very good food and everything is homemade. My romantic tip is not so much intended for only Valentine’s Day, but for every day. Remember how much you love your spouse, and how they make your life so much more worth living. Remind them every day of how much they mean to you and that you value their friendship, love and concern for you.

My sweetheart and I would spent our money at Old Man River in McGregor. They have great food and good beer. One tip I have for a great marriage is to always be willing to try new things we are going to a “Weekend to Remember” in March it is a marriage retreat and I think it will be good to be reminded of all the great things we love and share. Sometimes we get so busy with kids, work, and just life that we need to slow down and take time for one another.

Well I think that I would spend the money by taking my husband out to a movie at Elkader Cinema. We hae been married 15 years this year and with 2 very active kids and our own very busy lives it would be great just to have a night to ourselves!

We would go to Old Man River in McGregor. They have great atmosphere and we always enjoy good food.

Valentine tip – keep a sense of humor and know when to walk away from a disagreement…
