Last week, we had chance to check out the delicious, unique, thoughtful, quaint, fun, tasty, clever, eclectic, trendy, homey, loaded with options, Safe House Saloon, in Lansing. I was so impressed! I have been trying to accurately tell everyone I see about this great place to check out in Lansing but it is tough to summarize because of its almost contradicting charm. The Safe House is a bar/a pizza joint/classy saloon all rolled up into one. A local bar with typical charm and selection of domestic beers but with almost countless premium cold draft options. A pizza place, yes, but with a menu selection to please the gourmet taste. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time in the past two years enjoying pizza as much as I enjoyed our Safe House Supreme with Italian sausage. This place is classy because you are served on beautiful rectangle floral patterned china plates and use cloth napkins but a definite saloon because everyone eats shelled peanuts and throws the shells on the floor….What a place.
