DishnTunes.com fan Jeff Lenhart is an avid volunteer for the fight to end cancer. He has organized major efforts to raise money to help find a cure for this deadly disease. As a volunteer with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network of Iowa he has raised thousands of dollars for close personal friends and relatives to aid in their battle to fight cancer.
Lenhart says, ” Last year, cancer was the #1 killer of people in Iowa. This is the 21st century, we need a cure…NOW!”
Not long ago Lenhart, was fortunate to meet the world-renowned magician, Reza Borchardt. Reza has been featured on television and radio shows broadcasting in 31 countries around the world. Now working with a top television producer, Reza is currently in the development of a new primetime reality show based on the performer’s day-to-day life, both on and off stage.
Reza’s magic has taken him across the country, selling out theatres from Denver to New York, Orlando to LA. In addition to Reza’s own tour dates, he is also currently headlining “MASTERS OF MAGIC,” playing in theatres and arenas across the country starring Reza, along with a rotating cast of performers direct from television shows such as America’s Got Talent, Oprah, and Masters of Illusion.
Don’t expect rabbits out of hats. Reza’s current self-titled tour transports 15,000 lbs of lighting and sound melded with some of the most incredible magic in existence today; including Reza’s signature split-second appearance of a revving motorcycle, passing himself though 300lbs of diamond plate steel, vanishing a beautiful assistant at the tip of razor sharp spikes, and even the one-in-a-billion prediction made a year in advance about the thoughts of randomly selected audience members.

Reza has made his presence felt in the world of illusion since a very young age. His focus in the art began at the early age of seven after being inspired by a magic show in his hometown of Brookings, South Dakota.
By the age of fourteen, Reza was landing significant gigs performing for resorts and large corporations across the Midwest. On his fifteenth birthday Reza left his hometown to perform a six week run in Branson, MO, the live entertainment capitol of the world. The grueling eighteen-show-a-week schedule allowed Reza to hone his gift for entertaining. After Branson, one opportunity led into the next and as the doors began to open, Reza’s style took on a fresh and cutting edge feel. With a largely original show and an engaging stage presence, Reza began selling out theaters as the entertainment world took notice.
Fast forward to present day. The once youth magician prodigy is today one of the fastest rising stars in the industry, with his mind set on changing the world’s perception of magic.

The Franklin Hotel in Strawberry Point finished up their annual Karaoke Championship, Saturday, March 19. Thirteen singers were featured who had won previous competitions throughout the year. This year only three men were chosen to compete amongst ten women. The event started off at 9 p.m. and your very own DishnTunes.com writer, Shannon Durbin, drew lucky number one. I sang “Leaving on a Jet Plane” in the style of Peter, Paul, and Mary. A variety of themes followed from Country to Jazz to Rock n’ Roll.

The Irish Shanti has a great remodeled full bar, with an excellent draft beer selection. People not only drive for miles for their famous burgers but the Irish Shanti is unusually packed Tuesdays for their BBQ Ribs, Thursdays for Baked Chicken, Fridays for the Shanti’s Fried Fish and now on Saturday mornings for Homemade Breakfast from 6 am – 10 am.
