Creedence Clearwater Revisited VIP at Delaware County Fair

Monday, February 6th, 2012

Delaware County Fair Announces Creedence Clearwater Revisited as VIP Concert for 2012 Fair.

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Creedence Clearwater Revival

A classic band with dozens of hits to their name is headed for Manchester to headline the VIP concert for the 2012 Delaware County Fair. Jeannie Domeyer, Manager of the Fair made the announcement of the VIP concert last Friday night at Manchester’s winter edition of the First Friday @ Five. Headlining the traditional Friday night VIP concert with their legendary American rock is Creedence Clearwater Revisited.

CCR, headlined by Stu Cook and Doug Clifford “Cosmo”, original CCR band members, bring back the meaning of the music as they originally played it. Having now toured North America, South America, Central America, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and Asia, knocking out audiences with astounding concerts jam packed with songs that are still a staple of radio and movie soundtracks, Creedence Clearwater Revisited has come a long way. “In the beginning Cosmo and I decided that if we could find the musicians that could capture the sound and recreate what the music was about, we’d do it,” recalls Stu.

Creedence Clearwater Revival had over 10 hits on Billboard’s top ten list including 5 #2 hits. No other bands have had more than that except for Elvis Presley and Madonna. Stu and Cosmo and their band Creedence Clearwater Revisited add a new chapter to their legacy with vibrant and exhilarating energy and pure American spirit. As the Hollywood Reporter’s music critic John Lappen wrote about a Creedence Clearwater Revisited concert in Los Angeles, “Their set was an amazing list of hit after hit that was done serious justice by the players involved.”

Seating for the VIP concert will include track seating at $60 which all you care to eat and drink with a full meal, beverages, wait staff and an area for dancing. Domeyer says, “This is our eleventh VIP concert, even the rain last year couldn’t stop the fun that happens during the concert atmosphere of VIP night at the Delaware County Fair!”

Tickets go on sale for this show on March 10th at 9:00 a.m. Tickets will be available at the Fair office, by calling 563.927-6449 or at www.delawarecofair.com.

Delaware Co. Fair wins two awards at International Convention

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012
Delaware County Fair, Manager, Jeannie Domeyer

Delaware County Fair, Manager, Jeannie Domeyer

Manchester, IA: The Delaware County Fair was presented two awards at the annual meeting of Fairs and Expositions at Las Vegas in November. The awards were given in two different categories, agriculture and communications. First place was earned for the Fair’s going green project designed to teach consumers the environmental benefits of using bio-diesel. The Fair placed large green footprints throughout the fairgrounds with facts about the soy based product. Additionally the Fair used only soy diesel in their track equipment and implements used on the grounds.

The second award was received for the Fair’s marketing efforts. First place was received in the category of special promotional effort. The Delaware County Fair used promotional yard signs to promote the dates of the Fair. These signs, designed by Manchester Signs, were placed in yards to surprise the homeowner with free tickets for the Fair. After receiving the sign in their yard, the homeowner was asked to move the portable sign and surprise their friends and family with free tickets to the Fair too. This promotion was considered a unique, grassroots approach to marketing the Fair by the staff of the International Association of Fairs and Expositions based in Springfield, MO. The yard sign idea was created by Jeannie Domeyer, manager of the Fair in Manchester.

The awards were presented to Domeyer in November where more than 2500 fair managers and board members met at the convention for Fairs from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia and Korea. The Fair’s awards were given in the division of Fairs with attendance less than 100,000.  The 2012 edition of the Delaware County Fair is July 9-15th.

Touring extensively for the summer of 2011 the band, Tenth Avenue North, is an American contemporary Christian music band, formed in West Palm Beach Florida while some of the members were students at Palm Beach Atlantic College.  They took their name from a major east-west road in Palm Beach County. The band features Mike Donehey on vocals and acoustic guitar, Jeff Owen on electric guitar and backup vocals, Ruben Juarez III on bass guitar and backup vocals, and drummer Jason Jamison.

Tenth Avenue North released three independent albums and an EP before their major label debut. Their debut album, Over and Underneath, was released on May 20, 2008 on Reunion Records, and the band began a tour in promotion of the album near that time.  Their song “Love Is Here” hit the Top 20 on the U.S. Contemporary Christian Music chart, and reached #3 by June 21, 2008.  It ended 2008 as the 12th most-played song on Christian Hit Radio according to R&R magazine’s Christian CHR chart for the year.

The band’s next album, The Light Meets The Dark, came out on May 11, 2010. The first single from that album, “Healing Begins”, was released on March 2, 2010. The band performed at 1st Baptist Church of West Palm Beach on May 14, 2010 in addition to the release of their new album and to further promote the new album.

The band has toured with David Crowder Band and Mercy Me and headlines their own dates throughout the United States. They won the “New Artist of the Year” award at the 40th GMA Dove Awards in April 2009.

On March 1, 2011, the band released “Tenth Avenue North Live: Inside and In Between – The Shows, The Songs, The Story” a live album featuring video footage of concerts and live recordings of their biggest hits thus far.

Major Lineup Change for the Delaware County Fair

Thursday, May 5th, 2011
Craig Campbell to play the Delaware County Fair, IA

Craig Campbell to play the Delaware County Fair, IA

The Delaware County Fair received word this week that the JaneDear Girls previously scheduled to open for Little Big Town, on July 14th, at the Delaware County Fair have been given an opportunity to tour with Brad Paisley. This means they will be unable to fulfill their contract with the Fair. However, in their place, newcomer Craig Campbell will be wowing the crowd with his straight-forward and powerful voice.

Campbell currently has the #12 single on the country charts with his song Family Man. This song is an example of the traditional, unapologetic styling of Campbell’s music. His songs are down to earth portraits of real people from the American Heartland. His self titled, debut album is in stores now and includes solid, salt of the earth songs about America’s working class. Campbell helped to write 11 of the songs on this album. “It’s traditional, back-to-basics, true country music,” Campbell says.

Thursday night’s traditionally country concert at the Delaware County Fair has become a favorite of many people in the five county area. Combining the traditional sound of Craig Campbell with the harmonies of Little Big Town will stack up to a great night of music in Manchester. Tickets for Craig Campbell and Little Big Town are on sale now.  Tickets will be available at the Fair office or at www.delawarecofair.com.
