Delaware Co Fair makes A VIP night Announcement

Beach BoysThe Delaware County Fair Announces VIP Act for 2013 Fair
The 2013 VIP concert will headline an iconic band whose songs span five decades. With huge hits such as “Little Deuce Coop”, “Surfin’ USA”, “California Girls”, and “Barbara Ann” the rock legends, The Beach Boys will perform in Manchester on Friday, July 12th.
VIP Night is known for timeless bands and celebrated songs and the Beach Boys certainly embody the definition of what has been called the best night of the year. Jeannie Domeyer, Manager of the Delaware County Fair, applauds the Fair Board’s decision to bring in this ageless group.

The DnT Delaware County Fair Giveaway

Fireside Pub and Grill, Manchester, IA The all new Fireside pub & steakhouse, in Manchester (behind Wal-Mart) is so worth checking out. Great menu, cozy surroundings, fun in the pub is guaranteed. This Friday, March 30th from 9-1 will be the perfect time to enjoy Karaoke with Box Canyon Entertainment.
DnT loved their Exotic Wild Mushroom pizza. Also of note was the very decent draft beer selection. Grade = A

The Legendary Joan Jett will headline VIP Night

Joan Jett at the Delaware County Fair, Manchester, IA The Delaware County Fair is thrilled to announce their lineup for VIP night at the 2011 Delaware County Fair. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will headline this year’s night of legends concert. During the 1980s, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts put together a series of gold and platinum-certified hit albums and Joan Jett was referred to as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll”. She was best known for her hits “I Love Rock’n’Roll”, “Crimson and Clover”, and “I Hate Myself for Loving You”. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will be taking the stage on Friday, July 15th.

The Delaware County Fair considers VIP night their marquis event and is proud to once again host this annual social gathering for the community. Jeannie Domeyer, Manager of the Delaware County Fair said, “We had a tough year booking VIP night with the loss of REO Speedwagon but we spent a lot of time and effort finding a legendary rock band that could come into Manchester and put on a high energy, full force rock show. Joan Jett was named as one of only two women to Rolling Stone’s top 100 guitar players. With those kind of accolades her show will definitely be energetic and full on classic rock.”

“Our community has supported VIP night very strongly over the past 9 years. We invite you to come out and join us again with another great classic rock show, Domeyer said.”
Tickets for this concert will go on sale in late March. Tickets for this show are $60 and include all you care to eat and drink from 6:00 p.m. until the end of the concert.

Tonight’s the Night – Kansas takes over the Delaware County Fair

17 Candle opens for Kansas tonight July 16th at 6:30pm.  Kansas takes the stage at 8:30pm.

The Delaware County Fair is pleased to announce that local touring act 17Candle will open VIP Night at the Fair Friday, July 16. 17Candle is a 6-piece pop/rock band with powerful vocals, melody-laden hooks, and heart-felt lyrics driven by colorful guitar licks and infectious beats. Formed in 2001 on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa, the band’s raw talent and explosive live show quickly gained them a loyal following in the Iowa college scene.

In the winter of 2009, 17Candle returned to the studio to record their first full-length album, Californ-IA. The band received numerous accolades from critics across the Midwest, and invitations to perform at regional and national events, most notably headlining the 2010 Capital One Bowl All-American Halftime Show. Supercross Racing is coming to Manchester!!

Supercross Racing is coming to Manchester!!  High-flying, fast paced dirt bike and ATV racing will be featured at this summer’s Delaware County Fair, July 13, at the Grandstand.  You will see racers jump seventy foot triples, navigate bermed corners and pound thru the whoops.  Local racers are invited to sign up for the races – as young as 4 years old and as old as 50.  Pit Gates will open at 3pm, sign up will start at 4pm, practice will start at 6pm (for Race Entrants Only), and the racing will start at 7pm.  A Supercross Race contains 18 different classes, 4 ATV classes and 14 dirt bike classes.  The program consists of a Heat Race and a Main Event; and every person that signs up to race will race in both the heat and the main.  The Heat Race determines what gate pick the rider gets for the Main Event; and the Main Event will determine what trophy the rider gets.  There will also be an intermission race for Pit Bikes.  For racing information check out www.motokazie.com and click on the SX menu.

Father’s Day Picnic at the Glenn

Fathers Day picnic at The Glenn! Featuring Hot dogs, brats, burgers, BBQ chicken, salads, pop, lemonade, ice tea, all in a setting with red and white checkered table cloths, ants, flies, bugs, much more, in an outdoor setting indoors! Buffet style serve yourself, seat yourself, paper plates, plastic silverware just like a real picnic. Chat with your dinning neighbors, listen to oldies music, swat flies and smash ants. Lots of fun indoors in a different sorta way. Indoor picnic found nowhere else!

Sunday June 20th. Breakfast Buffet will be 8:00 am to 9:30 am then the Fathers Day picnic starts at 10:00am to 1:00pm

Delaware County Fair Looking for Crafters and Open Class Exhibitors

Calling all crafters!! We are very pleased to announce a new show for 2010. The Delaware County Fair invites crafters to show their products at the 2010 Delaware County Fair. 10×10 booths are available in our air-conditioned Community Center for $100. Items ranging from wooden crafts to painted and sewn items will be displayed. Last year more than 40,000 people attended the Delaware County Fair. Setup is Monday, July 12 and the show runs Tuesday, July 13 through Sunday, July 18. (more…)
