The McGregor Historical Museum, the McGregor-Marquette Center for the Arts & the McGregor Clan Lions Club will be hosting their Annual Holiday Festival of Trees December 6 & 7, 2013 at McGregor’s Landing (111 First St | McGregor, IA). “What a wonderful way to enjoy the spirit of the Holiday’s! It will be a fun-packed, festive weekend to be in McGregor & Marquette!” says Carolyn Gallagher, Executive Director of the McGregor~Marquette Chamber of Commerce.
The public will be invited to view the trees during the Festival on both days and to cast their vote for their favorites. There will be an auction for those trees that Sponsor’s would like to contribute. Remaining trees will be donated to area causes. This year there will also be a Gingerbread House contest. The public will be invited to view the houses during the Festival & cast their vote for their favorites.
The 2-day event will include an array of activities including: Arts & Crafts Sale, Dessert competition, Bake Sale, Beer & Wine Tasting w/appetizers, Holiday Cheer Contest, Carolers & Live Music. There will also be a soup lunch available for purchase provided by Maggie’s Diner. Participating businesses in both McGregor & Marquette are going to be extending their normal business hours until 7pm or 8pm on both nights of this event.
